The goal for corneal reshaping therapy is to correct your vision to 20/20 without eyeglasses or contact lenses during the day. After wearing the reshaping lenses overnight, more than 65% of patients that participated in FDA trials were able to achieve perfect, 20/20 visual acuity, and more than 90% were able to see well enough to satisfy the legal vision requirement for driving without glasses in most states (20/40).
Those with more mild nearsightedness tend to have greater success with Corneal Resahping Therapy. Call our office to find out if your prescription is within the range that can be successfully treated with corneal reshaping therapy.
Cost of Corneal Reshaping Therapy
Pricing for CRT is highly variable, with pricing differences depending on differences in location, income level, etc. Because Corneal Reshaping Therapy is generally a much longer process than a regular contact lens fitting, fees are generally higher. A series of office visits and often multiple pairs of lenses will be involved, and GP lenses used for corneal reshaping therapy are more costly than most regular contact lenses. On average, CRT runs around $1,000-$2,000 (compared to LASIK, which is around $4,000), with additional maintenance costs around $300-$500 annually.
