Dr. Chou earned his doctorate of optometry at UC Berkeley before undergoing fellowship training in refractive surgery management at Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA School of Medicine. He has authored over 60 manuscripts in the eye care industry including book chapters on keratoconus, cataracts, and laser vision correction. He is also the author of the book, Spanish Terminology for the Eyecare Team. He received the Nuemueller Award in Optics from the American Academy of Optometry and serves on the editorial board for Review of Cornea & Contact Lenses. Dr. Chou is a clinical investigator and consultant to several ophthalmic companies, and is an expert witness for the California Board of Optometry. Outside practice, he enjoys time with his wife and dog, along with tennis, basketball, ocean fishing, and snorkeling.
